고死

포스터

The most recent scary movie I watched was 고死. The movie is about a parent killing students in order to find a person who killed their daughter. The movie was extremeley scary that I almost died watching it, especially when the students were killed disgustingly. A girl was killed by a teacher as she tried to reveal her teacher’s public flaws; innocent parent who agonized about their daughter’s death, planned out murder to kill the teacher, yet they weren’t sure about who killed her. Numerous students were killed for nothing, but to find out who killed the daughter. I could imagine the pain the parents would have felt; I believe it would be more than I could imagine. However, I didn’t think it was justifiable for them to kill others for revenge. How can’t they think about other parents who would agonize for their child’s death; I couldn’t withstand the anger I felt inside me. During the whole movie I was both angry and scary; yet the last part of the movie made me laugh, in fact it made everyone in the theater laugh. The last part was extremely comical and I was able to replace all of the scary and angry feelings with laughters. The movie was pretty good and I would like to recommend it to people who want to watch scary movies. I was able to see how much the Korean movie business is growing; I would like to see how much it would have developed in 10 years.

South Korean actor Lee Un, famous for his role in “The First Shop of Coffee Prince”, has passed away on the 21st morning due to a traffic accident. Many viewers were thrown into disbelief when death news of the 27 years old was announced.
– Hanfever ( Visit to read more about the article)

Recently Korean entertainment business had brought up a shocking news; it was the death of Lee Un, a popular Korean celebrity. The news was extremely shocking as he was only 28 years old, which is a pretty early stage to die. The reason for his death was a motorcycle accident, which reminded me again about how dangerous motorcycles are (I again promised to myself that I would never ride motorcycles).

The news was more shocking to me as I liked Lee Un as an actor. “Coffee Prince” was the Korean drama where I first learned about an actor, Lee Un. His role in the drama was extremely comical and I enjoyed watching his character; I also enjoyed the drama very much (it was one of the best dramas I’ve watched).
I was once again reminded about how person’s life is mysterious; no one knows when a person would die. This made me scary and become more careful about every single bits of actions.

I am sad that Korean entertainment business has lost an excellent actor and I wish Lee Un to rest in peace.

EVERYONE knows that babies crawl before they walk, and that tricycles come before two-wheelers. But at what age should children get their first cellphone, laptop or virtual persona? These are new questions being faced by 21st-century parents, and there is no wisdom from the generations for guidance. You can’t exactly say to your teenager, “When I was a boy, I didn’t have an unlimited texting plan until I was in high school.”
– So Young, and So Gadgeted (The New York Times)

I believe there is no fixed age value of when a children should get their first cellphone, laptop, or virtual persona; but it is rather at what age would these gadgets be truly useful for those children. Let’s say that a 2 years old child has bought a cellphone. Would this child ever use this cellphone to call someone? The answer is obviously ‘no.’ Thus, I believe, about 4~5th grade year of elementary school is the earliest time when those gadgets would be useful. Parents should buy their children electronic devices at around 4~5th grade years.

Piaget is a Swiss Psychologist who has studied child psychology for years; Piaget is also titled for developing the field of child psychology. Jean Piaget has formed a theory of identifying four stages of cognitive development. This theory gives advise of when to provide children with gadgets. The four stages he has divided are AGES 0-2, AGES 3-5, AGES 6-11, AGES 12 AND UP. These stages are clearly seperated into stages of how the electronic gadgets are viewed by the children. According to Jean Piaget ages 6-11 should be the earliest period when the children should be provided with the gadgets. Once again, Piaget had developed the field of child psychology so great that no one in the history has done more than him on such field.

BEIJING — Pigtailed and smiling, Lin Miaoke, age 9, stood in a red dress and white shoes during Friday’s Olympic opening ceremonies and performed “Ode to the Motherland” in what would become one of the evening’s most indelible images: a lone child, fireworks blazing overhead, singing a patriotic ballad before an estimated one billion viewers.

After reading “In Grand Olympic Show, Some Sleight of Voice” and watching the two video clips, I realized that China is a big liar. It has been reported that China had lied twice to the world. The first lie dealt with the two girls, Miaoke and Peiyi. I can’t believe how the directors could have done this kind of immoral thing for the two young girls, who are 5~7 years old. In the new report, the girls said that they were fine; but I am pretty sure that they were hurt. Peiyi would think that she is physically challenged to be shown widely on TV; whereas Miaoke would feel that she is not a good singer to sing in front of billions of people. Through this incident, I realized how Chinese are not even capable of finding a pretty girl who can sing well out of millions of population in China. This is pretty stupid. China has also failed the world with its technology. China pretended that there was a real footprint firework, which was broadcasted through media; the people who watched it through TV would have thought that the firework was real. In fact the firework was computer graphic. How can a nation lie to billions of people in a such sacred ceremony? I can’t believe this actually happened and I am pretty sure that China’s credibility has decreased dramatically. There is nothing I want to say further about this. I think bad streotypes made about China are not there for nothing; there are reasons to why such stereotypes are created.

End of summer…

It has already become the last week of summer vacation although it only seems like the break just started yesterday. Now that the school starts in less than a week, all new worries are getting in my nerves. First of all, I am a senior now, which means I have college applications to do. My last SATs are also waiting for me on October and November. I must get good scores from those tests in order to get into good colleges. Thinking about apps and SATs, I am already stressed. I also regret wasting my summer break doing nothing. This summer I didn’t study much and it feels like I have just wasted my times. However, everything has already happened and there’s nothing I can do to get my time back; now it is up to me to stay focussed and spend the rest of the break usefully. I should also stay focussed for rest of the year as this year is the most important year for the seniors (as it deals with colleges). I AM SO STRESSED! I hope the year goes fast with good progress!

The Dark Knight

According to Box Office Mojo, The Dark Knight grossed $24.5 million on Monday and set yet another record: biggest non-holiday Monday of all time. On Tuesday, the film grossed $20+ million, coming in second place for Top Tuesday behind Transformers, bringing it to $204 million domestically. The film is scheduled to earn more in its first week than any other film in history. The movie is a flat-out cultural phenomenon earning comparisons to Titanic. And I’ve spoken with a number of people who have shared odd conversations heard amongst general moviegoers waiting on line to see it. Previously, we reported that 64% of TDK viewers plan on seeing it again. Here are a few other “phenomenon” stats for moviegoers we’d be curious to see.
Film Review Site

The Dark Knight has become the best Batman movie I have ever watched. The film was not only well-made, but also had great actors who bettered the film quality much more. I was especially amazed with Heith Ledger’s (Joker in the movie) acting skills. Joker is a hard role to play as an actor has to act like he is a psycho; yet Heith Ledger did not fail his fans and acted like a real psycho. According to some news articles, Heith Ledger had to suffer a lot mentally playing Joker, and some people are assuming such effect has caused his death. I am really sorry that the Hollywood has lost an excellent actor like Heith Ledger. I believe Heith Ledger would be the first and the last person to ever play the role of Joker in such excellent manner; I just admire him as an actor, so does the world. Christian Bale also did not fail me; I have enjoyed his past films and have praised his skills. I watched the movie on my computer and now I really regret doing so. The movie is worth watching in the movie theater; I would watch it in the theater even if I have to pay $100. I just can’t believe some people who are saying that the movie isn’t great; they must be idiots, who don’t know the true value of such movie. It is impossible to describe how I feel about the movie and I just recommend the movie to the world. The film would not fail anyone. To learn more about the film, go to the official site of The Dark Knight

This clip explains all about Heith Ledger’s excellence in acting…

As I have mentioned in the previous post, I have watched 1リットルの (1 Liter of Tears).  The film has been an excellent experience for me as I was able to realize the real value of being healthy. I have always thought that being healthy is a normal thing and would not have to worry about it. But as I watching 1 Liter of Tears, I realized that a person’s health can be at risk of a disease at any matter of a second. For instance, the main character of 1 Liter of Tears, A-Ya, had been livingt a normal life like all other girls of same age; she had hopes for her future and did not expect any misfortunes. Then she found out that she has SCD and she was only 15 years old. As I knew that the story was based on a real story, I was surprised about how an ordinary girl can get a deadly disease at age of 15. ‘No one knows when a person will die.’ This phrase soon filled my head. I am now 18 years old and I have lived my life without any broken bones or serious surgeris; I feel very lucky about my self and my health. In the drama, A-Ya was not able to walk, which is one of the symptoms of SCD. Watching her not able to walk made me feel sorry; but I was more glad that I didn’t have such disease. I believe I would have committed suicide if I became unable to walk and once again thanked god and my parents for my healthy body. Now that I have realized the importance of health, I would always be careful with my body, and would try to help the people who desperately need help from the others.
